What is a TSS visa or 482 visa? The TSS visa or 482 visa is a Temporary Skill Shortage Visa. It allows the visa holder to live in Australia whether working full-time for the sponsoring employer in a nominated occupation; it is listed in the Short Skilled List or Medium Term Skilled List.

Age restriction for a TSS 482 visa
Actually, there is no age limit for applying for a TSS visa. It is for Australian permanent residency. If you get a visa in MLTSSL occupation and are going to apply for permanent residency after three years of working experience with the same sponsor. Then you should be under 45 years of age at the time of applying for your permanent residency visa application. Otherwise, you should meet the exemptions.
482 visa streams
There are three streams applicable to the TSS 482 application:
The Short-Term Stream
The Medium-Term Stream
The Labour Agreement Stream
The Short-Term Stream
The applicants with occupations on the stream Short-Term Skilled Occupations List(STSQL) should be eligible for visas for up to two years. It is renewable onshore once for the further two years. And it is potentially renewable for another two-year period if you are applying from offshore. The applicant should meet the Genuine Temporary Entrant requirements.
The Medium-Term Stream
The applicants with occupation on the stream Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or Regional Occupation List(ROL) can apply for four years. The applicants with eligibility for permanent residency after three years depend on their age, English skills, and Health and Character requirements.
The Labour Agreement Stream
This visa is applicable for skilled workers nominated by employers who have correct labor agreements. It allows us to live and work in Australia temporarily. The labor agreement is created between the Australian government and the concerned employers.

The TSS 482 subclass includes a three-step process.
Have a sponsorship application by the employer
Have a nomination application for a skilled position by the employer
Have a visa application by the proposed employee
What can you and your family do with a 482 Visa?
If you approved this visa application as a primary applicant then you can travel to and from Australia for the duration of the visa approved. And the applicants will work only for the approved sponsor. The sponsor is the person who nominated you for an occupation. If you are holding this visa with family members, those who are included in the visa application can travel to and from Australia for the duration of the visa approved. And the applicants can work or study anywhere in Australia without any rules or restrictions.

Who pays for the costs?
All the costs associated with business sponsorship are paid legally by the employer. It includes the consultancy fees for migration agents. The fees for the visa application can be paid either by the employer or the applicant.
Obligations of 482 visa subclass holders
The holder should maintain health insurance. The primary visa holders are engaged in work. This means:
They only work in the occupation mentioned in the visa that is approved. Those who work in different occupations must apply for a new TSS visa.
They only work for the concerned employer nominated the position
You did not cease the work for a period that exceeds 60 consecutive days
You should hold any license, registration, or membership id. It is mandatory for work.
Employment Terminated
If you want to relieve the occupation, then you must inform the department of home affairs. If the 482 sponsor terminates your employment, then you must do:
Find out another employer fastly. They are ready to sponsor you and give the approval and start work with a new employer.
Another option is to apply for another type of visa but there is very little time due to the sixty days time period.

482 visa lead to permanent residency
If you are selected in an MLTSSL occupation, you may select permanent residency through the 186 visa subclass. There is no restriction for the employer to sponsor the applicant for permanent residency. It fully depends upon the business requirements.
